Living in Israel means constantly balancing the threat of war and violence with the challenge of leading a normal, fun, and full life; and our VLog is a reflection of that.   On that note, would like to talk about some of the more serious work we have been doing these last few months…

Last week, we were able to film our American subject Yoni Cooper as he finished his two-week long ‘jump school’ in paratroopers training.  Catching up with Yoni gave us a deeper understanding of how hard and serious this decision really is.  Also, as any filmmaker would hope, Yoni’s overall demeanor was visibly different than at the onset of his journey.

We have also managed to catch up with Lee (South Africa) and Yaniv (Brazil) and visit them at their homes in Jerusalem.  While Yaniv got drafted to the army about 3 weeks ago, Lee is still awaiting his date in a week and we are still awaiting final approval to follow his whole induction process.  From filming Lee reading his poetry in a Jerusalem shuk, to Yaniv kissing his daughter goodbye in Brazil, our stories are slowly coming to fruition.

In other news, our very own Tamir finally made the cover of the Western Mass edition of the Jewish Ledger!
