Sandra Ruch

Sandra Ruch, Executive Director, of the International Documentary Association (IDA), a nonprofit membership organization devoted to promoting nonfiction film and video supports the efforts of documentary film and makers around the world and serves to increase public appreciation and demand for the art of the documentary. as Executive Director where she currently travels the globe representing IDA and documentarians everywhere.
Sandra Ruch has extensive senior management experience in all areas of corporate communication, marketing and public relations, having worked in film, television and public affairs. Prior to joining IDA, she served as President of Marketing at New Line Cinema, Ruch launched over fifty theatrical releases. A specialist in niche marketing, Ms. Ruch captured the youth and ethnic markets by developing and launching such films as House Party and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Ms. Ruch was Director of Cultural Programs and Promotions at Mobil Corporation For twelve years. She conceived, initiated and implemented all public relations, advertising, promotions and marketing for Mobil sponsored projects, television, visual and performing arts and sports. She supervised the programming and advertising of Mobil Masterpiece Theatre, the longest running mini-series for PBS as well as Mobil Mystery! Theater.
Ruch’s extensive career spans nearly three decades and includes being Vice President of PR and marketing with the House of Seagram; Senior Vice President of marketing at Cinergi Pictures where she supervised and implemented the marketing campaign behind Disney’s EVITA; Media Consultant to Scholastic Inc. for entertainment based in-school programs; and Producer on Quicksilver Highway, a Movie of the Week for Fox Television. Ms. Ruch had her own company, Beyond The Box, a full-service marketing communications and public relations firm specializing in the entertainment industry
